Job Title: AWS Solution Architect 

Location: Remote

Duration: 6 Months CTH

Job Description:
The candidate will manage a team of 5 AWS architect within the Cloud Center of Excellence team. The AWS Cloud Center of Excellence team determines best practice and patterns for AWS resource utilization. This role will also engage in technical scoping for consulting engagements within Optum Tech.

Primary Responsibilities:
• Function as manager for a team of AWS cloud engineers
• Provide technical leadership in architecture and design for software development in the public cloud (AWS/Azure) and Big Data
• Lead thorough code architecture reviews
• Empower engineering implementation teams by providing recommendations on best practice utilization of cloud assets
• Contribute to all phases of cloud implementation including requirements analysis, data architecture, solution design, terraform code development and implementation
• Design and implement product features in collaboration with other technical teams, business and IT stakeholders
• Design reusable technical frameworks, libraries and components
• Work with capability manager to prioritize deliverables and manage sprints and releases
• Coach and mentor engineers
• Collaborate with all provider engineering teams with content in cloud (across US and India) to ensure that their needs are met with the most cost effective and simple solution
• Act as the Technical Lead for several cloud initiatives
• Ability to provide hands on guidance for technical questions
• Work with the business to ensure that their needs are met with the most cost effective and simple solution option
• Responsible for resource manager role for AWS architects
• Act as the functional manager for all team members
• Manage the global team in the direction of the project initiatives
• Manage and accountable for professional employees and/or supervisors

Required qualifications
• Undergraduate degree or equivalent experience.
• 3+ years of experience with cloud technologies with AWS (S3, IAM, VPC)
• Experience providing technical direction and vision to development teams
• Demonstrated experience managing multiple competing initiatives
• If you need to enter a work site for any reason, you will be required to screen for symptoms using the Protect Well mobile app, Interactive Voice Response (i.e., entering your symptoms via phone system) or a similar UnitedHealth Group-approved symptom screener. Employees must comply with any state and local masking orders. Preferred qualifications
• Experience with cloud technologies with AWS (EMR, Athena, Lambda, Step Functions, ECR, EC2, Glue, Redshift)
• Experience in managing DevOps teams in an Agile Delivery/onshore-offshore model
• AWS Certified Solutions Architect
• AWS Certified SysOps Administrator
• AWS Certified Developer
